Type of camp: Endurance triathlon camp
Length of camp: 4.5 days
Dates: June 21-25th
Greenville, SC offers many attractions, especially if you love nature. It's hard to describe our beautiful downtown Greenville in a few words. From State Parks, to the Greenville zoo to the many well recognized farm-to-table restaurants and museums, Greenville is the perfect place to explore. And if our active community (and pet-friendly everything) wasn't enough, we have the perfect triathlon training playground that we can't wait to show off to you.
The focus of this endurance camp is to help athletes absorb a good amount of training stress in the early part of the racing season.
There will be an endurance theme to this camp as you will be covering a lot of swim/bike/run miles over 4.5 days but we will not exclude a heavy focus on skills, technique, form, pacing, sport nutrition and mental strength. This camp has the right mix of training and education in order to help you take your triathlon training to that next level.
Break out of your normal training environment and let us spoil you with an unforgettable 4.5 day camp experience in Greenville, SC. With a constant mountain view no matter where you swim, bike or run, our camp offers full SAG support, all-day access to two experienced triathlon coaches, well-mapped training routes, guidelines for sport nutrition for every workout, long course pool and open water lake swimming, hilly bike courses (rollers and mountains), hill and run trail running and a bit of suffering.
We invite you to take advantage of this great opportunity to leave your normal stressors of life behind you as you train, eat, relax, sleep and have a lot of fun at the 2017 Trimarni Greenville endurance camp.
If you are not sure if this camp is the right fit for you, send us an email.
Socialize, eat, relax and connect with your fellow campers at the Swamp Rabbit Lodge. With views of Paris Mountain, perfectly located next to Furman University and the GHS Swamp Rabbit trail, campers will feel not want to leave this mid-century modern ranch house that sits on 12 beautiful acres.
The house features two rooms with a queen bed, one room with two full beds, 3 twins in the basement/lounge and two rooms each with 8 twin XL bunk beds. The house has a huge kitchen for group cooking (and eating), several Kuerig machines for morning (and post-workout) coffee, ample seating and space for you (and your bike - including a few bike stands!), several TV's, free WiFi and a grill, hot tub and covered outdoor dining area.

Chris Johnson is a 7x IM finisher and a 2x IM World Championship finisher, including many podium finishes at various triathlon distance events. Chris's philosophy has been shaped by his background as a clinician, researcher, and performance coach in addition to his experiences as a lifelong, multi-sport athlete. During the early part of my athletic career, he sustained various injuries and underwent a handful of surgeries, which ultimately stemmed from poor load management. Consequently, he found himself in physical therapy on numerous occasions. Thankfully, he fell under the care of skilled and caring clinicians. After completing the rehab process, he consistently returned to sport at a higher level relative to my pre-injury status, while feeling mentally stronger.

- Meals (except team dinner)
When should I plan to arrive/depart?
We suggest to book your travel so that you arrive by late afternoon on Wednesday June 21st, 2017. We suggest to depart on Sunday late evening (June 25th) or Monday morning (June 26th). The team house is booked June 21st - June 26th. Check-in is at 3pm on the 21st and check-out is 10am on June 26th.
Are meals included in my camp payment?
Campers will provide and share groceries in the team house. For our past camps, one person was the designated grocery "buyer" and then the total costs were divided among those staying in the house. Seeing that our campers eat similar snacks/meals, sharing food cuts down on the cost of food and makes eating time a much more fun experience.
The local grocery store (Publix) is less than 10 minutes away. There is also a Super Wal-Mart close by and a Farmers Market (Tomato Vine).
Do you cater to dietary restrictions?
Absolutely. Just let us know your food allergies/intolerances and we will be sure to find you a replacement option for our team dinner and for any snacks that are provided during workouts.
How should I get my bike to camp?
If you are not planning to drive with your bike, we suggest to either fly with your bike or use Bike Flights to ship your bike. If you are considering using Bike Flights, please contact us after you reserve your spot at camp for more details.
If you are flying with your bike (or shipping your bike), you do not need to bring your bike pump as we will have plenty available.
Do I need to bring a wetsuit?
Nope. The lake water will be very comfortable for our open water swim.
I'm nervous about your terrain, I heard it is hilly!
Yes, our terrain is challenging, specifically for cycling.. While we will be working on your cycling skills while you are at camp, it is expected that you feel very comfortable riding on our hilly terrain (including climbing and descending). Also, because this is an endurance camp, we do ask that you have a good level of fitness on the bike and you feel comfortable riding in a group.
What if I can't keep up with everyone?
We understand that everyone will be at different levels of fitness, even for an endurance camp. We will never let any athlete get dropped or feel excluded. We will have SAG support for all bike rides to help you out if you need the support to get back home.
What if I get injured before the camp but I’ve already registered?
Please review our cancellation policy ahead of time in the case of an injury. If you still plan on attending camp with a recent injury, we will do our best to modify workouts so that you can get the most out of your camp experience. We will not let you feel excluded.
What if I am not fit enough for this camp?
This is an endurance training camp. While you don't need to be a world class athlete, we do need you to have great endurance and resilience.
I am not a Trimarni coaching athlete, can I still attend?
Absolutely! We would love to have you at camp.
