 After spending much of my adult life learning about the physiology of the body during exercise, as well as working as a clinical dietitian and coach, I have had great success in helping individuals of all ages and fitness abilities learn how to develop a healthy relationship with food. More so, with new "food" freedom and trust in the daily diet, I have helped athletes (and fitness enthusiasts) learn to eat in a way that maximizes performance as well as reduces risk for injury/illness. With a basic understanding of your individual needs, you will quickly find yourself recovering faster after workouts, encouraging gains in lean muscle mass and eliminating "sports nutrition" fears when it comes to eating before, during and after workouts and racing.

This service is designed for the athlete who needs consistent education, instruction and assistance in the area of sport nutrition. This service is ideal for the athlete who is just starting to train for an event and is concerned about GI distress, running out of energy or an unintentional change in body composition as well as for the athlete who is looking to maximize performance through a better/improved fueling strategy. 
This is a personalized nutrition service designed to help athletes understand how to meet energy, fluid and electrolyte needs during training as well as how to eat before and after workouts.
Although a great emphasis will be placed how fueling for intense or longer workouts, the daily diet will not be overlooked.

What can I expect in the Sport Nutrition Consultation?

  • One-time payment. We will work together for a maximum of 6-weeks, focusing on how you fuel before, during and after your key workouts.
  • After you purchase the consultation, you will be emailed a sport nutrition consultation questionnaire form to complete in detail for my review. Please complete online via Word document as no handwritten documents will be accepted.
  • Based on your specific needs and goals, you will be asked to complete up to 3 x 2-day sport nutrition logs (provided to you) specific to your key workouts (ex. typically athletes will focus on their longest workouts but weekly intense workouts can also be addressed). Every 2-day log that you complete will take place on consecutive days (ex. Sat and Sun). I keep the log format simple and my communication detailed. I want you to spend your energy making practical changes with my suggestions so you feel the results with your changes.
  • After every 2-day log that you send, I will review your logs and provide detailed feedback via email, Skype/Facetime or phone. My focus is helping you move closer to your performance, health and body composition goals. The reason why I ask you to complete 3 logs within 6-weeks is because I want to give you time to work on my suggestions. I never want you to feel as if you are changing too much all at once. I also do not want our time together to stretch out beyond 1.5 months as I have learned that athletes do the best when they are given a specific time-frame with a deadline because it allows you to make changes that are realistic and practical at that moment in your life.
  • I don't believe in meal plans or diet fads and I do not require you to use specific sport nutrition products.  I treat every athlete as an individual and I want to understand your individual dietary concerns, needs, goals as well as allergies, intolerances and habits and past/current sport nutrition needs/preferences. If you are ready to work with a RD who specializes in sports and spend a little time focusing on your sport nutrition, the timing of food around workouts and understanding how to eat before and after key workouts, then the sport nutrition consultation is perfect for you.

  • What sport nutrition products are best for your body and training
  • Clearing up any confusion about sport nutrition vs daily nutrition
  • How to properly fueling before, during and after workouts to experience a favorable change in body composition.
  • Understand how to fuel properly before, during and after workouts to improve performance
  • Reduce risk for dehydration, cramping, bonking, GI issues and extreme fatigue
  • Answer any questions related to supplements (ex. caffeine, amino acids and protein powders)
  • Learn how to eat properly on the evening before your key workouts as well as after your key workouts.
  • Learn how to time nutrition with training and to boost the immune system
  • Discover how to fuel for long bike rides, long runs and long bricks as well as other key workouts
  • Learn how to eat when you train in different environments (ex. traveling, camps, etc.)
