Coach Katie was born and raised just outside the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. She grew up as a competitive gymnast where she developed a strong foundation in discipline, dedication, and hard work at an early age.

While attending the University of Georgia to to study Exercise and Sports science, she joined the club triathlon team to make friends, but quickly discovered a passion for the sport that extended far beyond the social aspect.

After college, she continued to train and race, steadily climbing the age-group ranks before making the transition to professional racing in 2023.

A 31 time Ironman finisher and eight-time Kona qualifier, Katie has achieved success across the sport’s biggest stages, including earning top amateur honors at the 2022 IRONMAN 70.3 Mont-Tremblant, Qualifying for Kona in the pro category in 2025, and most recently was 3rd overall Pro Woman at Ironman Maryland.

Of all the distances, the full-distance race holds a special place in her heart. For Katie, it’s where the most magic happens.
With a degree in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Georgia, nine + years of coaching experience, and a decade-long background in strength coaching, Katie brings a science-based, well-rounded approach to athlete development. Katie, believes strength training is just as important as swimming, biking, and running when it comes to building a strong, resilient triathlete. While she enjoys coaching athletes across all distances, she specializes in long-course racing.

Katie’s coaching philosophy centers on smart, consistent training, a holistic approach to performance, and a healthy dose of passion. She believes that hard work is essential, but so is flexibility, balance, and the ability to adapt along the way. Her goal is to help every athlete become the best version of themselves through effective, science-based training, consistency, and the power of self belief.
Outside of coaching and racing, Katie lives in Decatur, Georgia, with her partner, Cat, and their three dogs.
