Every two years, we reflect on what workouts helped our one-on-one athletes best prepare for their races - alongside staying healthy - and we refer back to those sessions when creating our plans. Each plan balances fitness development, recovery, and performance progression to help you reach your goals safely and effectively. Trimarni Training Plans are designed for motivated, self-directed triathletes who want a structured, evidence-based approach to training without the cost of one-on-one coaching. Whether you're preparing for your first triathlon or pursuing a new personal best, our plans provide the guidance, progression, and education needed to help you train with purpose and confidence.
Our philosophy is simple: effective training should improve performance while supporting long-term health, consistency, and enjoyment of the sport. Every workout is included for a reason. By removing the guesswork from training, we help athletes avoid the common pitfalls of inconsistent, overly aggressive, or haphazard training approaches that often lead to burnout, injury, or underperformance.
Each plan is carefully designed to balance fitness development, skill progression, recovery, and race-specific preparation. With clear objectives for every session, practical guidance for workout modifications, and an emphasis on understanding the "why" behind the training, you'll develop the confidence, endurance, resilience, strength, and race-day readiness needed to perform at your best.

Every year, we evaluate our coaching methods, athlete feedback, race results, and emerging best practices in endurance training. As active coaches and athletes, we continually refine our approach to ensure our training plans reflect what is most effective in helping athletes succeed.
For 2026, the Half Distance, Full Distance and Foundation Trimarni Training Plan have been thoroughly reviewed and updated. We apply the same level of attention, expertise, and detail to our training plans as we do for our one-on-one coached athletes, ensuring you receive a professional and thoughtfully designed training experience.

Run workouts can be completed outdoors or on a treadmill, while swim workouts are provided in a written short-course yards format.

Our Half Ironman and Full Distance training plans include:

Long-term success in endurance sports requires more than swim, bike, and run training.
Our Foundation, Half-Distance, and Full-Distance plans include direct links to recommended ECFIT On Demand strength and mobility sessions developed by renowned endurance strength coach Erin Carson.

Our training plan takes into account the proper training stress that is needed to prepare for a long distance event - without increasing the risk for injury, burn out and sickness. As coaches who specialize in endurance triathlon coaching and long distance racing, we are confident that you will enjoy the detailed, periodized workouts in our training plans - which embody our coaching methodology so that you can train for athletic excellence while keeping your body in great health.
We believe that training for a triathlon event should be fun and you should enjoy the journey to the start line but you should not feel like training is taking over your life. Our plans are designed so that you are challenged enough to experience fitness improvements but not to the point that you will be overtrained. No matter your current fitness level or time constraints, we have formatted every workout in a way that will help you develop the necessary skills and fitness to feel ready for your upcoming event.
This newly designed half plan carefully incorporates similiar Trimarni coaching workouts, periodization and structure that has helped our one-on-one athletes experience success in the past season.

The 13-week Trimarni Sprint distance triathlon training plan will properly prepare your mind and body for your upcoming Sprint distance event.

7) Specific strength/mobility workouts to support your swim-bike-run training.
This 13-week Olympic distance training plan will give you the skills, endurance, strength, speed and confidence to feel prepared for your upcoming Olympic distance event. This plan includes a steady progression into structured training, a progressive build phase, taper and then race week. You also receive a recovery week for after the race.
Our 8-week Foundation plan focuses on strength, economy, skills and technique. By the end of this plan, you will become a stronger, more durable, more efficient, all-around triathlete.
This plan is ideal for athletes who are:
-Wanting to build durability and strength before training for a long distance triathlon.
-Returning to training after recovering from an injury.
-Resuming training after an off-season.
-Returning to training after time away from structured training.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the Trimarni Alumni Membership, athletes must meet one of the following criteria:
Have been a one-on-one coached athlete with Trimarni for at least one year, or
Have been a Trimarni Team Member for at least two years
